Research Center
The Lincoln Memorial Shrine is part of the Special Collection Division of A.K. Smiley Public Library. Research collections include original manuscripts, newspapers, photographs, artifacts, and ephemeral materials, as well as books, magazines, and journals. These remarkable collections are available to scholars, students, and researchers who are interested in learning more about Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War. Check out the book catalog online.
The research center is located in the Heritage Room of Smiley Library. To make a research appointment, submit a request via the online portal, or by calling (909)798-7632 or emailing heritage@akspl.org. Appointments are available Tuesday – Saturday 10am-12pm & 1-5pm and will only be finalized when confirmed by Special Collections staff.
Group Tours
Are you on the calendar committee for your group or organization? Do you need a history outing for your school group? Book your tour at the Lincoln Memorial Shrine!
The Shrine offers guided tours for groups of 12 or more adults or school aged children, Tuesdays – Saturdays from 9:30am to Noon (parents and chaperones excluded from total for school tours). School tours are tailored for students 3rd grade and above and include a group activity.
