Music From the Civil War Recorded at the Lincoln Shrine
The CDs retail for $10.00 and are available in the Shrine gift shop.
The tracks for this CD were recorded under the rotunda of the Lincoln Memorial Shrine in Redlands, California in December 2002 and January 2003.
Bill Bell has spent 20 years playing, writing and performing Celtic music and the American folk music it helped create, including songs popularized during the American Civil War. His expressive fiddle captures the feelings of glory and loss associated with those tragic years.
These songs are beautifully performed by Bill, ably supported by musicians Dan Richardson, Eddie Young, Bill Barrett, and Nathan Gonzales. Utilizing the natural acoustical power of the Shrine's domed octagon, these talented musicians offer a unique interpretation of period favorites, originals and traditional tunes. These haunting melodies reach across time to please the novice and the proven fan of this musical era.
A special thanks to the Will J. Reid Foundation for its vision and support in underwriting this project.
